Mid-Level HVAC Plumbing Engineer

Tags Engineering is a Women-Owned certified MEP Engineering Company seeking a Mid-Level HVAC/Plumbing Engineer to expand its business. This position will directly support the daily activities of the Company and provide engineering consulting and design services for a variety of clients to include commercial, government and private under the guidance of a senior Mechanical Engineer. Responsibilities: 

  • Design and draft building mechanical, plumbing and fire protection systems using Autocad and/or Revit.
  • Perform engineering calculations and design systems in accordance with established policies, standards, procedures and code under Senior Engineer’s close supervision.
  • Participate in project coordination with the Electrical, Structural, Civil and Architectural disciplines.
  • Assist with the preparation of plans and specifications for bidding and construction.
  • Coordinate and consult with others on design, layout and/or detail components and systems to resolve design issues or installation constraints.
  • Layout and dimensioning of equipment locations, pipe and ductwork routing, and support systems to eliminate interferences with other components, existing systems or other building elements. 
  • Undertake site surveys and field investigations, as needed, and develop drawings for system installations and modifications.
  • Support of construction activities with RFI responses, submittal reviews, punch list and reports.

Requirements: 

  • Associate Degree in Mechanical Design or CAD Drafting and Design or Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering and will preferably have at least 2 years of design and engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated interest in and understanding of the design of heat transfer/refrigeration and/or HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems.
  • Knowledge of discipline specific codes and other building codes.
  • Proficient in AutoCad, Revit and Engineering modeling tools.
  • Trane Trace, Elite Fire and Energy Gauge Software would be a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • Ability to meet fast-paced deadlines while maintaining quality design.
  • Candidate must live in Florida.
